At This Shop In Karnataka, Employees Speak In Sanskrit

This is probably the only shop in India where Sanskrit is the medium of communication.

This is probably the only shop in India where Sanskrit is the medium of communication. At 3 Garments in Karnataka’s Vijayapura,
there are 55 employees and most of them speak in Sanskrit. The shop’s been running for the past 30 years. The initiative was introduced 10 years ago by owner Ram Singh Rajput. An ancient language with a 3,500-year history, Sanskrit today is only used
for academics and during religious rituals. HRD ministry recently announced its decision to develop Chittebail in Shivamogga district into a ‘Sanskrit village’. It will be developed on the lines of Mattur, India’s only Sanskrit speaking village.
