Koffee With Karan: When Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar and Kabir Khan knocked down film critics and reviews like a boss

The episode was carried with #KWKDirectorsSpecial and trust us guys, it was the best so far from the whole season of Koffee With Karan. Have a look

The latest episode of Karan Johar’s celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan was graced by three of Bollywood’s best and most talented filmmakers, Zoya Akhtar, Imtiaz Ali and Kabir Khan. Basically, we can call this episode a treat for the movie buffs, with 4 top most filmmakers of Bollywood having a meaningful and deep conversation.

The episode was carried with #KWKDirectorsSpecial and trust us guys, it was the best so far from the whole season. With no mean talks or gossip, the filmmakers only gave us a sneak peek into what all goes into the process of filmmaking and how challenging it could get when they work with big stars.

While Zoya Akhtar confessed of being the ‘rejection queen’, Kabir Khan told the difference between ‘Pre-Friday’ and ‘Post-Friday’ releases. Imtiaz Ali also revealed that initially, no actors wanted to work in Jab We Met.

Talking about box office collections, Imtiaz Ali said that the only thing matters to him is that the money of the investors must be recovered from the film. While Kabir Khan and Zoya Akhtar confessed that it does feel bad when their films get good reviews but the collections are not that great.

From box office numbers, Karan shifted the focus to movie reviews and all three of them had a different take on it. Zoya called it low ground and supremely pathetic and said that it seems like a certain amount of competition is always going on between the critics. She also added: I think we should start rating the critics. While Kabir Khan said: I don’t seek them out but I don’t ignore them either.  Imtiaz was completely chilled out and like a boss said that he doesn’t read reviews at all.

Then came the most interesting topic of ‘live tweeting’ and Karan explained this new trend to all the three filmmakers and they were just annoyed with it. All four of them agreed that it is the worst kind of reviews and it needs to stop immediately. In fact, Zoya went ahead and called it a form of film piracy and in a way, she is right.

Well, this was the best episode so far and we just can’t get over it!
