Pulimurugan Box Office: The Mohanlal starrer is now the 1st Malayalam film to enter Rs 150 crore club

Here is the latest Box Office update of Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan. The film is now the first Malayalam film to have reached Rs 150 crore

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan is now the first Malayalam film to enter the Rs 150 crore club. Directed by Vysakh and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, the action-entertainer was released on 7 October as a Dusshera release.

Upon its release, Pulimurugan set the Kerala Box Office on fire by minting nearly Rs 25 crore in its opening week. The film also shattered the lifetime collections of Rs 44.75 crore set by Drishyam (100 + theatrical days) in just 17 theatrical days to become the all-time Malayalam grosser at the Kerala Box Office.

The Mohanlal starrer has so far collected Rs 82 crore at the Kerala Box Office while it’s ROI (Rest of India) and overseas business has crossed the Rs 45 crore mark. Manyam Puli, the Telugu dubbed version of Pulimurugan has earned Rs 8 crore. Earlier, the makers had revealed that Pulimurugan’s pre-release business including TV Satellite and audio rights had recorded Rs 15 crore.

And on Sunday, on the occasion of Christmas, the makers had revealed that Pulimurugan crossed the magical figure of Rs 150 crore worldwide. The makers took to their FB page to share the sensational news.

It’s a huge achievement considering that Malayalam films are released in a lesser number of screens compared to the widest screen-count of Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu releases. Interestingly, Pulimurugan also shattered the lifetime collections of many Tamil, Telugu and Bollywood blockbusters as well.

Pulimurugan is still running in more than 80 centers across Kerala. And since there are no Malayalam Christmas releases this year, the film is all set to enjoy the Christmas holidays to a great extent. Pulimurugan will complete its glorious 100-theatrical days soon. The film also featured Bengali actress Kamalini Mukherjee, Telugu actor Jagapatti Babu, Lal and Namitha.
