Power Paandi: Raj Kiran excels in the trailer of Dhanush’s directorial debut

How Raj Kiran wins over the complaints raised by society against love in his old age is what the plot of Power Paandi seems to be revolving around

The trailer of upcoming Tamil film Power Paandi has been released. Written and produced by Dhanush under his home banner Wunderbar Films, the film stars Raj Kiran in the titular role of Paandian Pazhanisami aka Power Paandi. The film also marks the directorial debut of Dhanush as well. Power Paandi also stars Revathi, Prasanna, Chaya Singh, Robo Shankar, Balaji Ganesh and Dhivyadarshini.

Dhanush released the official trailer of Power Paandi at a grand event held in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

The two-minute and twenty-three-second long trailer introduces the 64-year-old Paandian Pazhanisami played by Raj Kiran. The trailer also features the actor as a single man, who is trying to impress Revathi as his companion. How he wins over the complaints raised by society against love in his old age is what the plot of the film seems to be revolving around. From the trailer, Power Paandi looks like a complete family entertainer with Raj Kiran’s story as the main backdrop.

There are also reports that Dhanush will be seen in a guest appearance as the younger Paandian Pazhanisami.

Meanwhile, Tamil distributor of the film, K Rajarajan had stated that he is more confident about the Dhanush film than the SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film, Baahubali 2. It’s widely known that the popular distributor of K Productions has bagged the Tamil distribution rights of the much-awaited film of the year, Baahubali: The Conclusion, for a whopping price.

Speaking at the trailer launch event Rajarajan was quoted as saying: “I am a big fan of Dhanush. I don’t think there is any other hero who has been giving constant hits like Dhanush. I am betting on Power Paandi more than any other films. I am more confident about it than even Baahubali 2.”

Power Paandi is slated to be released on April 14, 2017.
