Mohanlal emerges as the first Indian actor to have four back-to-back 100 days running films in 8 months

Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has successfully completed 100 theatrical days at the Box Office marking a new record to the actor's name

Malayalam actor Mohanlal has set yet another record to his name. The actor’s first release of 2017, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has entered into the list of 100 theatrical days running films at the Box Office. The family entertainer, directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob and produced by Bangalore Days maker Sophia Paul under her banner Weekend Blockbusters was released on January 20 2017. Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol featured Meena opposite Mohanlal. Lalettan donned the role of a Panchayat secretary, Ulayannan while Meena essayed his wife’s role, Anniyama. The film also marked the return of the hit jodi after their 2013 thriller Drishyam.

And now, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has successfully completed 100 theatrical days at the Box Office.

Crossing 100 theatrical days at the Box Office is not a big deal these days. However, in the case of Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, its 100 days success is another record for the lead actor Mohanlal.

With the film, the 5-time-National-award winner emerges as the first Indian superstar to have four straight back-to-back 100 days running films, that too within a span of eight months. It is indeed a remarkable achievement considering that all four films hit the century within 240-calendar days. Earlier, Mohanlal’s 2016 blockbuster including Telugu film Janatha Garage and Malayalam films Oppam and Pulimurugan too crossed 100 theatrical days at the Box Office.

Munthirivallikalal Thalirkkumbol also featured Kasaba fame Neha Saxena, Srinda, Anoop Menon, Amy Rosmy Sebastian and Sanoop Santhosh. The film went on to become Mohanlal’s fifth Rs 50 crore blockbuster at the Box Office.
