Kerala Box Office: Prithviraj’s Ezra crosses Rs 30 crore, becomes second Malayalam blockbuster of 2017

Ezra also emerged as Prithviraj Sukumaran's third Rs 30 crore plus grosser after Ennu Ninte Moideen and Amar Akbar Antony

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s first release of the year, Ezra is continuing its glorious run at the Kerala Box Office. Written and directed by debutant Jay K and jointly produced by AV Anoop, Mukesh R Mehta and CV Sarathy, the horror thriller marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil actress Priya Anand.
 
InUth had previously reported that upon its release , the Prithviraj starrer has comfortably beaten Suriya’s Singam 3 despite releasing in lesser screens compared to the Tamil superstar’s film. The film which had minted more than Rs 8 crore on its opening weekend was unaffected with new releases at the Box Office including Tovino Thomas – Gayathri Suresh’s Oru Mexican Aparatha and Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Angamaly Diaries.
 
While the film is nearing its one-month theatrical day on Friday, there is no stopping for Ezra at the Kerala Box Office. The film has already crossed the coveted Rs 30 crore mark at the Kerala Box Office. And with this remarkable feat, the Naam Shabana actor’s film turned out to be the second Malayalam blockbuster of the year after the Mohanlal starrer Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol. Ezra also emerged as Prithviraj’s third Rs 30 crore plus grosser after Ennu Ninte Moideen and Amar Akbar Antony.

 Ezra has been praised for the performances of the entire cast including Prithviraj, Priya Anand, Tovino Thomas and Maheshinte Prathikaram fame Sujith Shankar. The film also features the 2015 Kerala state award winner Sudev Nair, Vijayaraghavan, Alencier Lopez and Ann Sheetal in other pivotal roles.
