Here’s how hyper-nationalists on Twitter want Karan Johar to pay for 4 mins of Fawad Khan

Twitter asks Karan Johar why didn't he speak in the issue before

After Karan Johar’s official video statement on the release controversies of his upcoming — Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Twitter has gone hysteric. While ‘Karan Johar’ is trending on the social media platform, the filmmaker is facing a lot of ire for keeping mum for so long. In his video statement, Karan has said that his duty towards his country takes precedence over his personal interests.

However, it seems like it’s not really easy to shut haters and trolls on Twitter. People have taken to Twitter to express how Karan’s statement reflects that he’s only concerned about the money he has invested in the film and not about the lives of Indian martyrs of Uri attack. Several tweets also target him for speaking so late on the issue. Check these out:

Did Karan Johar honestly just say ‘I won’t hire anymore Pakistani actors, but please watch my film because loads of Indians made it too’???

Wonder what took so long for Karan Johar to speak out on Pak actors. He could have said the same words earlier.

Dear Karan Johar, if you want to fight Pak’s terror by “spreading love”….better stay away from this. Leave it to our army and govt

A better line for Karan Johar to take would’ve been to speak up 2 weeks ago, donate a part of the film’s earnings to families of Uri martyrs

Karan Johar has broken his silence on the controversy. Sir, you can earn money in your next film, but what about the lives lost #ripcinema

Don’t blame Karan Johar for wilting. He is businessman first, artist second. But what of a state & society that beggars citizens into this?

Karan Johar officially declares that he loves India. https://t.co/W1TZTZ7ypK

Karan Johar realized Country Comes First after 30 days of Uri, 20 days of Surgical Strike and 10 days before release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

“For Me My Country Comes First, Nothing Else Matters”: Karan Johar.#ADHM

But He Didn’t Clarify Which Country, India Or Pak. 😉 #KaranJohar

Earlier in the day, the filmmaker also hinted at leaving Twitter citing a rather disgusting tweet made to mock him and his film — Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Sometimes it’s tweets like this that make you want to leave this platform….forever… https://t.co/jWUsYxyYHY

Featuring Fawad Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slated to release on 28 October.
