Wonder Woman actress Robin Wright is returning as Antiope in Justice League

Wonder Woman actress Robin Wright, who plays the role of Diana's aunt General Antiope in this Gal Gadot starrer, will be featured in Justice League.

Wonder Woman had a lot more surprises for its fans that it might have one believing. Not only were the viewers pleased with Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince, there were certain things in the movie that left them utterly heartbroken. The first of such tragic scenes comes quite early when back in Themyscira [spoiler alert] General Antiope, played by Robin Wright, sacrifices herself to save Wonder Woman. While at the moment, it seemed like we may never get to see the badass Amazon warrior again, it has now been confirmed that Wright’s character will make a return for the upcoming film Justice League.

Although the character’s screen time was short-lived (literally), Antiope and her demise was imperative for Diana’s story and it ended up leaving a lasting impression on fans. While speaking to L.A. Times, actresses Gal Gadot, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright confirmed General Antiope and Queen Hippolyta’s presence in Justice League.

Wright further added that “you get some of the history” which clearly hints at a possible flashback in Justice League. The film was earlier intended to be directed by Zack Snyder but was later handed over to Joss Whedon after Snyder stepped down due to a family tragedy. Starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg, the film has been slated for a release on November 17, 2017.
