Way back in 2015, director Aanand L Rai revealed that he is in advanced talks with Salman Khan for a film wherein the superstar will have to essay the character of a dwarf. However, for the reasons best known to the two of them, the things didn’t materialize. A lot was speculated about Salman Khan backing out from the film, however, the two chose not to speak about the issue.

A few months later, Rai narrated the script to Shah Rukh Khan who instantly fell in love with the basic premise and asked the director and his writer to start working on the screenplay and dialogues. After working on the pre-production for almost two years, the film finally went on floors in Mumbai recently. Time and again, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that the film would take little longer to be made as compared to his other films owing to the never seen before visual effects.

In a recent interview with a news agency, Shah Rukh Khan said that Salman Khan was the first choice to play the lead role however things didn’t work out owing to the date issues. Speaking about Salman Khan’s involvement in the film, he said: “He is very kind. This (role) was written a long time back in the film, from the first narration onwards. Salman had also heard the script, I think Aanand wanted to make the film with him at one time. They didn’t have the time, things didn’t work out and VFX wasn’t ready.”

A few days back, Salman Khan shot for his special appearance in the film with Shah Rukh Khan at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. In the film, Salman Khan will be seen playing himself i.e. a superstar. Recently, Shah Rukh Khan too shot for a cameo in Tubelight wherein he was seen as a magician.

The movie also features Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the yet to be titled film hits the big screen during the Christmas 2018 weekend.
