What happened when Shah Rukh Khan was mistaken for Akshay Kumar [Watch Video]

Akshay Kumar fan once mistook Shah Rukh Khan for Akshay. What King Khan did next will definitely melt your heart.

Do you know Shah Rukh Khan, aka King Khan, was once mistaken for Akshay Kumar? In a throwback video, an excerpt taken from the Bollywood chat show, Yaadon Ki Baarat, Shah Rukh Khan shares what he did when an Akshay Kumar fan walked up to him for an autograph. In the video,  Khan shares that took place in the ’90s, when he was shooting for Pardes (1997). He was returning to India since his wife, Gauri had a miscarriage. Shah Rukh says while he was running to catch his flight, a woman saw him, started chasing him asking for an autograph.

Although Shah Rukh was going through a deep emotional turmoil himself, he did not disappoint the woman who landed up calling him Akshay. The video, which was posted by Bollywood Hungama last year in November, was viewed by over 5 million people. Shah Rukh’s reply, clearly, must have earned him a lot of fans. Here are some of the reactions on the post:

Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar haven’t worked together except for appearing in cameo roles in each other’s movies. Akshay Kumar played Madhuri Dixit’s friend-cum-fiance in Shah Rukh Khan’s Dil To Pagal Hai while Shah Rukh Khan shared screen with Akshay in Heyy Baby. Although the two actors who have a huge fan-following have always wanted to work together but somehow the scripts haven’t worked that way. Recently, in an interview with DNA after Akshay Kumar was signed up by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Salman Khan’s, SKF for one of their projects, Shah Rukh expressed his wish to work with Akshay too. He said ” I wanted to do that [work with Akshay Kumar]. But the story and all didn’t work out. I’m sure he is really open to it. I think whenever there is an opportunity, as producers, we should make this happen.”
This year, Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled project with director Imtiaz Ali are set to clash at the Boxoffice around Independence Day.
