Watch: Throwback video of Baahubali’s Sivagami dancing with late Vinod Khanna is the best thing you’ll watch today

Ramya Krishnan who played Sivagami in Bahubali series, shared screen space with Vinod Khanna in this song from 1988 hit Dayavan

Ramya Krishnan has earned a lot of praises for having essayed the role of Rajmata Sivagami, the revered ruler of Mahishmati in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion. She is the authoritative matriarch whose decision is the last word and nobody dares to question it. In a career spanning more than three decades, Krishnan has acted in more than 200 films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

A day before the release of Baahubali, the entire nation was in a state of shock on hearing about the demise of veteran actor Vinod Khanna.  The film’s premiere in Mumbai was cancelled as a mark of condolence towards Khanna. While going through old videos of him, we stumbled upon an old video which will be of great interest to you.

It is an old song from the 1988 hit Dayavan which had Vinod Khanna playing the titular role. Directed by Feroze Khan who also shared screen space with him, the film centred around a man who rises from poverty to become a godfather. Ramya Krishnan enthralled everyone with her sensuous dance moves in a song Haiyya that also featured Feroze Khan and Khanna. The five-minute long video has so far generated more than 5 lakh views on YouTube. Ramya’s avatar is completely different from the one we have seen in Baahubali.

A prominent star in the South Indian film industry, Ramya did try her luck in Bollywood. She featured in Khalnayak, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Chaahat, Parampara and others. However, she could not taste the similar success in the Hindi film industry.

Directed by SS Rajamouli, Baahubali stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.
