This is how Sonam Kapoor reacted after being trolled for getting the national anthem wrong

It seems Sonam Kapoor's article about trolls did not serve any purpose as her remark on national anthem got her trolled on Twitter

Seems Sonam Kapoor strong worded letter targeting trolls did not help her in any way. The actress may have spoken about how trolls should not mistake her as a bimbo and someone who has no brains, but one sentence in her article regarding the National Anthem got her trolled on social media. Trolls incessantly took on the social media because she mentioned in her piece that the National Anthem had the words- “Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Issai…”

When in reality, our National Anthem doesn’t have a mention of all these religions. Sonam’s article for Hindustan Times read, “I’m a proud Indian. I love my country but for some of you — and you’re the bigots, not me — I become ‘anti-national’ only because I ask questions or choose to be critical. Listen to the national anthem one more time. Recall the line you heard as kids, ‘Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Issai…”

As it happens on social media, trolls were quick to jump on the matter and targeted the Neerja actress mercilessly. They said that she learned a different version of the anthem. Soon #SonamKapoorQuotes became a top trend on Twitter with almost everyone poking fun at the actress.

However, the actress tried to make amends through Twitter. She wrote that the way trolls reacted to her piece proved her point. Sonam also retweeted pieces screenshots of few tweets which mentioned that the second stanza of Rabindranath Tagore’s anthem did mention the “Hindu Bauddh Shikha Jain, Parasik Musolman Christaani”. Here are her tweets:

Thank you so much twitter for the amazing response to my article and also to the #trolls who proved my point by the way they responded

Undoubtedly, Sonam would not have thought that her article about trolls would boomerang in such a way. In the piece, she had written about being well-read and how she has quite the knowledge about various topics. But one mistake by her proved her wrong and gave enough fodder to trolls to do what they are known for.
