Sachin Tendulkar was initially reluctant to act in his biopic Sachin: A Billion Dreams. The batting legend reveals how he agreed to come on board

Sachin Tendulkar’s much-awaited biopic Sachin: A Billion Dreams is just a day away from its theatrical release. The film chronicles the batting icon’s journey from childhood to the heights of sporting glory. Ahead of the release, Sachin spoke at length about the challenges he faced while making the biopic that features him.

“When Ravi Bhagchandka (producer) approached me with the idea, my initial reaction was that I can’t act. I have always been a sportsperson and continue to be so. It took them some time to convince me. The story needed to be told to my fans who did not know many things about my life,” the Bharat Ratna awardee said.

Sachin said he wanted the people to know something beyond his experiences on the cricket field. He held long discussions with the makers on what information he was willing to share.

In his two-decade-long career, Sachin witnessed several highs and lows in his cricket career. He revealed that the film will have some unseen videos from his life.”Whatever is shown in the movie is more about what I was going through during the highs and lows of my life,” he told Filmfare magazine.
