Rishi Kapoor slams a cartoon relating Raj Kapoor’s Aag to the fire accident at RK Studios

A major fire had broken out in the iconic RK Studios in Chembur on September 16

We all know Rishi Kapoor, the veteran actor, does not mince his words when it comes to stating his mind on any issue. And when a leading daily published a cartoon on the fire which broke out at the famous RK Studios a few days back, he didn’t take the reference well. He slammed the cartoon as it made a direct reference to Aag, the first movie that came out of RK Studio and was directed by Raj Kapoor.

Rishi had expressed grief over the fire that broke out at the RK Studios recently. He had said the loss of memorabilia and costumes that featured in his home banner’s movies were irreplaceable. The blaze gutted one of the main shooting venues – the set of dance reality TV show Super Dancer Season 2 – but thankfully the shooting was not underway. The iconic studio was founded by Rishi’s father, the legendary actor Raj Kapoor, in 1948.

Lashing out at the cartoon, Rishi wrote:

He had tweeted: “A studio can be built again but the loss of the irreplaceable memorabilia and costumes of all R.K. Films, is tragic for all. The fire took it away.”

Recently, Rishi had blasted Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi when the latter gave the example of the Ambani family as well as Bachchan family in defence of the term ‘dynast’. Gandhi said it was unfair to only blame him. In the speech, the Congress Vice-President spoke about how most of the political parties in the country relied on dynastic politics and also said that it was how India functioned.

RK Films has produced classic films like Barsaat, Awaara, Boot Polish, Shri 420, Jaagte Raho, Jis Desh Me Ganga Behti Hain, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby among others.
