Noor Music Review: Here’s why this album of Sonakshi Sinha-starrer is utterly disappointing

Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Noor boasts of a music album which simply fails to strike a chord with the music fans

Sonakshi Sinha is essaying the role of a journalist in her upcoming film Noor. A cinematic adaptation of Saba Imtiaz’s novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me, the film has been helmed by Sunhil Sippy. It revolves around a journalist who finds it hard to cope up with problems in her professional and personal life.

For a film like Noor whose storyline will connect to the young audience, it is expected that the musical album will be fresh and will click with the audience instantly. Sadly, the Amaal Malik composition turns out to be a disappointment. The fans who were waiting for melodius songs like  Soch Na Sake or Main Hoon Hero Tera, have a lot of reasons to feel dejected. The lyrics of the album have been penned by Manoj Muntashir and Kumaar.

Here’s an overall analysis of Noor’s musical album which is far from satisfactory.

Gulaabi Aankhen: Remember the Mohammad Rafi classic Gulaabi Aankhen Jo Teri Dekhi from Rajesh Khanna starrer The Train? The melodious track was recreated by Atif Aslam which was also very popular. Now, the same song has been recreated by the composer. Amaal Malik, Tulsi Kumar and Yash Narvekar have lent their voice to the track.

InUth verdict: Umm!! The song is okay. But haven’t we taken an easy way out to rehash old melodies instead of thinking something new?

Uff Ye Noor: The title song of the film has been crooned by Armaan Malik. It vividly describes the protagonist’s personality. Noor struggles in her professional life and her love life is screwed. Just have a look at the lyrics and you will get to know Noor in a nutshell.

Ajab gazab hai iske tevar
Zara zara si baat lekar
Kare tamashe macha de yeh halla..

To know more about the sulky Noor, listen to this song.

InUth verdict: This song is not that bad. You can listen to it at least once.

Jise Kehte Pyaar Hain: Even if a Bollywood film does not have mindblowing songs, the listeners expect it to have a soothing romantic track. In such a case, Jise Kehte Pyaar Hain is a big letdown. Sung by Sukriti Kakkar, it simply fails to connect to you.

Hai Zaroori: During troubled times, you need to have a song which will motivate you. Thankfully, Hai Zaroori is one single song in the entire album which will inspire you to get your mojo back. Amaal Mallik has got his notes right as Prakriti Kakar’s melodious voice will make you believe everything’s not finished.
