Kangana Ranaut confirms Tanu Weds Manu 3 but Aanand L Rai doesn’t. What’s the truth?

Kangana Ranaut to start working on Tanu Weds Manu 3 after completing her next film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

Kangana Ranaut’s performance as Tanuja Trivedi (Tanu) in Tanu Weds Manu was loved by one and all. The Aanand L Rai directorial helped in establishing the actress as one of the strongest performers in Bollywood today. And now there’s a good news for the fans. Both Kangana and Rai have confirmed that Tanu Weds Manu 3 is on the cards. As per an official press release sent by Kangana’s team, the work on the film is about to begin and both the actress and the director are excited about the project.

In fact, Kangana will get onto this post the completion of Manikarnika, her very ambitious project that entails the life of Queen of Jhansi. Confirming the news, she said: “Yes, I will be meeting Aanand L Rai after I am done with Manikarnika,” while Rai said: “We will start working on the script once I finish my film (the Shah Rukh Khan starrer)”. While Kangana has given her nod, it would be interesting to see if R Madhavan also becomes a part of the film or not.

However, minutes after the official statement released from Kangana’s Team, director Aanand L Rai said that there are no plans to make Tanu Weds Manu 3 and he is currently concentrating on the yet untitled film starring Shah Rukh Khan in lead. After finishing the work on the ambitious project, the director would start shooting for his next starring Dhanush in lead.

Interesting, isn’t it?

Both the earlier parts of Tanu Weds Manu featured R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. It also featured Jimmy Shergill, Deepak Dobriyal, Swara Bhaskar and Eijaz Khan in pivotal roles.

The franchise is a hit among people because of many reasons. It featured Kangana in a rather bold avatar and also kept the storyline quite desi by setting it in places like Lucknow and Kanpur. In fact, the dialogues from both the films are also quite popular.

On the work front, Kangana was last seen in Hansal Mehta’s Simran. The film released worldwide on September 15, 2017. The film couldn’t do wonders and fell flat at the Box Office. However, Kangana brought back her infamous legal battle with Hrithik Roshan once again in the limelight.
