Kaabil Box Office collection day 10: Hrithik Roshan proves his mettle, film set to enter Rs 100 cr club

Though few critics had written off Hrithik Roshan's career, the Box Office numbers of Kaabil prove he is back in the game

Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil has not let the buzz around it die even after 10 days of release. On the second Friday since release, Kaabil minted Rs 6.40 crore at the ticket counters yesterday. The movie now stands on a grand total of Rs 97.03 cr. It is most likely that the film will enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club on Saturday.

Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Kaabil clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees at the Box Office. Though, the latter surged ahead in terms of collections, Kaabil picked up pace in the coming days. This can be credited to the positive word of mouth the film received.

Though, a large chunk of critics lauded Kaabil for the way it depicted the struggles of a visually impaired person, it drew flak for the rape scene. Many felt the rape and the suicide scene that followed, showed the weakness of the victim. But Hrithik felt it was not the case.

In an interview, Hrithik defended the scene by saying:

This is the depiction of human reality… Where sometimes in our life, (even) I felt that there is no reason to go on. (You feel) so low and down that you fail to see any prospect of a happy future. Many of us have been through adversities where it seems like ‘This is the end and one can’t go on’. While some of us succumb to it, some of us don’t. This is the story of a simple, sweet girl who goes through so much, not once, but twice — and she unfortunately succumbs to it.

Well, maybe Hrithik’s statements would put an end to the critics’ complains from the film.
