Half Girlfriend audience review: ‘Hope you sit for at least half of it,’ says Twitterati

After much wait, Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend has finally hit the theatres on Friday. Inspired by author Chetan Bhagat’s book of the same name, Half Girlfriend is a love story. This is the first time that Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor have teamed up for a movie. While the trailer and the songs of the film got good reviews from the audience, this Friday released is receiving mixed response from the cinema lovers.

Directed by Mohit Suri, the film revolves around the journey of a man from Bihar who faces difficulty in getting accustomed to urban life and get college admission due to his lack of command over the English language. In the film, Arjun Kapoor plays the character of a Bihari boy Madhav Jha while Shraddha essays the role of Riya Somani, the star student of St. Stephens College.

Going by the response so far it seems the film has failed to leave a mark at the viewers. After watching the film, they took to social media platform and expressed their disappointment. While some praised for Arjun and Shraddha’s performances in the film, some of them suggest avoiding wasting the time in watching the film.
