Dangal Box Office collection: At Rs 1870 crore now, the Aamir Khan film beats Transformers 4’s 30 day record. Here’re the details

Seems like Aamir Khan’s Dangal is on a record breaking spree. After crossing Rs 1,000 crore in China recently, now the total collection of the film stands at 1,870 crore. According to the latest record shared by trade analyst, Dangal becomes the first Indian film to achieve such feat. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is about a determined father in a patriarchal society, training his daughters into world class wrestlers. Aamir is one of the most popular Indian actors in China.

According to Trade analyst Ramesh Bala, at the Taiwan Box Office Dangal has collected  US$5.9 Million [₹ 38 Crs] till now. Dangal is the All-time No.1 Indian movie in Taiwan. The film also beat Hollywood film Transformers 4‘s 30 Days record. Confirming the figures, Ramesh took to his Twitter and wrote: “Dangal creates an All-time Record in #China – Daily Gross ¥10 M ($1.5 M) for 31 Days in a row. Beats Transformers 4’s 30 Days record”.

Dangal chronicles the story of the real life Phogat sisters Geeta and Babita. Released in China as Shuai Jiao Baba (“Let’s Wrestle, Dad”) on May 5 in around 7,000 screens. The film garnered Rs 872 crore in China until May 28 evening. The film is still going strong and is refused to slow down. With its record-breaking collection, Dangal also created history by becoming the first highest-earning non-Hollywood film in China.

The film features Aamir in the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat. The film featured Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in the roles of Geeta and Babita Phogat. The film was hugely appreciated by the Indian audience as well.

Aamir, who was last seen in Dangal will next be seen in Thugs of Hindostan. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan in lead. This is the first time Aamir and Big B will be seen sharing the screen space.
