Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Phillauri has finally hit the theatres on March 24. Before you book your tickets to watch the film, here’s all you need to know about it.

About the film

Phillauri is directed by Anshai Lal, who earlier assisted Shimit Amin in Chak De India and Tarun Mansukhani in Dostana. The film has been produced by Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma. It is the sibling duo’s second venture after NH10. Phillauri, as the title of the film suggests, is set in Phillaur village of Punjab.

Cast

The film stars Anushka Sharma as a friendly ghost Shashi. Yes, she does not harm anyone but follows a groom-to-be who gets married to a tree wherein she lived. The groom is none other than Suraj Sharma, who made his debut in Life of Pi. Last but not the least, you have Punjabi film actor Diljit Dosanjh who plays Anushka’s love interest in the film. Famous Web series company TVF’s member Nidhi Bisht will be seen as a supporting role for the first time in movies.

Music

Phillauri has an album comprising songs of all moods. The music has been composed by Shashwat Sachdev and Jasleen Royal. The songs have been penned by Anvita Dutt Guptan, Aditya Sharma, Neeraj Rajawat and Shelle.
There are three songs of the film which have gained a lot of popularity. Saahiba that has been crooned by Romy and Pawni Pandey. Dum Dum, the Sufi song of the film has been sung by Romy and Vivek Hariharan. But more than the original one, the version having vocals of Diljit Dosanjh is being loved by cine buffs.
Another number Naughty Billo is peppy and features rap by Anushka Sharma. This song has all the potential to become the favourite party song.

Box office prediction:

The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 25 crore. It has been promoted rigorously by Anushka. As far as Box office prospects are concerned it will earn Rs 5-7 crore on the first day. The first-weekend collection of the movie would come to around Rs 12-15 crore.
