Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 gets UA certificate with no cuts, despite being under judicial scanner

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 was under judicial scanner recently, when a petition was filed at the Bombay High Court to remove the word LLB from the film’s title. The petition has been filed by Advocate Ajaykumar S Waghmare, who says that using the word LLB is a deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of the Indian legal profession.

And amidst all the controversy, the film has been granted a UA certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification and that too without any cuts. This simply means that are no controversial scenes or statements which disrespect the judicial system by any means.

The film is a sequel to Arshad Warsi’s 2013 courtroom comedy drama- Jolly LLB and is the story of a struggling, blunt and yet oddly compassionate Jagdishwar Mishra, aka Jolly, who has moved from Kanpur to the city of Nawabs Lucknow, to becoming a big lawyer.

According to reports, in an interview with a leading daily, a source close to the film said:

The film that was shown to censor board had no controversial statements on the legal system. Even the reference to the show company Bata was removed before the film was brought to the censor board. The version of film shown to the censor board had nothing even remotely controversial about it.

Well, the trailer and songs of the film are very much liked by the people and Akshay’s mind-blowing acting as a lawyer is being appreciated by one and all. The film also stars Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla in prominent roles.
