Akshay Kumar or Hrithik Roshan: Who will play lead in Bollywood remake of AR Murugadoss’ Kaththi

For a while now there have bee reports about a sort of tussle between stars Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan. There have been reports that Hrithik was approached for the Hindi remake of AR Murugadoss’ Kaththi; after grapevine being abuzz that Akshay will play the protagonist. And now if media reports are anything to go by, Hrithik has not been approached for it.

Apart from these actors, Salman Khan’s name was also being said to be considered for the role.

Kaththi was remade in Telugu as Khaidi No 150 starring megastar Chiranjeevi. The film was touted as a comeback for the star after 10 years and became a huge hit. Owing to the reception of the film, there were rumours that a Bollywood film will be made.

When Akshay was asked about him working in the film, he has said, “I think so, the project is still in talks.” Before that, even Salman Khan was rumoured to be considered by Murugadoss to play the lead in the Hindi remake after a photo of them during a discussion surfaced online. However, nothing got materialised. Interestingly, Akshay and Salman have acted in the Hindi remakes of Murugadoss’s south Indian films – Holiday and Jai Ho, respectively.

Interestingly, both Akshay and Salman have worked in Bollywood remakes of Murugadoss’s films – Holiday and Jai Ho.

What led to speculations that Akshay has been dropped from the project, was the fact that he is keeping busy with many films. Khiladi Kumar has a busy 2017 with four of his films releasing. Not only this, he has announced a release for 2018 as well.

But, there are also reports that Hrithik won’t be replacing Akshay. With so much confusion around the film, we wonder who will join the cast finally.
