Beauty and the Beast trailer: This Emma Watson film seems terrifyingly beautiful yet, the magic prevails

Like the previous Disney films including, Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, etc., the script for the film was tailored, best to fit the viewers' liking today

The Emma Watson starrer, Beauty and the Beast, has released the first official trailer for the film. The first teaser trailer had been released earlier this year which left audiences spellbound by the magical essence of the film. The latest trailer clarifies on the plot of the film which is similar to the original tale of course, with a few minor tweaks.

Emma Watson seems like the perfect fit for Belle. The usually headstrong Watson manages to pull off the innocent, graceful demeanor of the character. However, the poise in Belle doesn’t seem to hold her back from standing up with the cursed man as the villagers lead by Gatson (played by Luke Evans) seek to execute him.

Being an old tale, Beauty and the Beast still tip-toes around a few stereotypes and gender roles. Like the previous Disney films including, Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, etc., the script for the film was tailored, best to fit the viewers’ liking today.

The U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador initially had issues with the script as Belle seemed more submissive than she would prefer. Watson stated that the character was tweaked to make her seem more proactive and “in charge of her own destiny.” One of these minor tweaks included making Belle, whose father is an inventor, a budding inventor as well. The 26-year-old actress claims that her version of Belle is very practical.

The soundtrack of the film is breathtakingly beautiful. It has been composed by Alan Menken, who also worked in the Disney film Tangled, and it is as nostalgic as it gets.

Dan Stevens looks terrifyingly majestic yet, still, effortlessly bringing out the true nature The Beast. Other cast members of the film include Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson Kevin Kline, and Josh Gad.

A lot of hope rests on Beauty and the Beast as the film’s teaser itself managed to gather 91.8 million views merely within the first 24 hours, beating films like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Not just for the filmmakers but, for the viewers as well, Beauty and the Beast is the beacon of hope which will redefine a new-age Disney princess. Watson seems to bear the weight of personifying Belle without mutilating the character.

The film will be released on March 17, 2017.
