Baahubali 2: Five key takeaways from the trailer of Prabhas, Rana Daggubati starrer

Prior to the release of Baahubali 2 trailer, director Rajamouli had stated that Baahubali was just a starter and its sequel will be the main dish

The much-awaited trailer of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion is out. Though the makers had planned to release the trailer at a grand event in Mumbai on Thursday 5.00 PM, Dharma Productions, the production house which is distributing the Hindi version of the film had already released the same following the leak of Malayalam trailer.

However, the makers need not worry now as the trailer trended worldwide within minutes after the release.

Baahubali 2, a sequel to the 2015 blockbuster Baahubali: The Beginning stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles. The film also stars an ensemble supporting cast including Sathyaraj, Nassar, Rohini and Kicha Sudeep in supporting roles.

Here are InUth‘s five best things about the Baahubali 2 trailer:

1) Prabhas as Mahendra Baahubali and Amarendra Baahubali

Baahubali 2 marks the return of Prabhas in two of his most loved avatars, Shivudu alias Mahendra Baahubali and Amarendra Baahubali. And the trailer features the Telugu superstar in both the roles as well. Whether its’s Amarendra Baahubali’s meeting with Kattappa or Mahendra Baahubali ‘s final face off with Bhallala Deva, Prabhas was rocking big time in both the avatars which are sure to be received well by the audience. It was reported that Prabhas had given his three-and-a-half years to Baahubali series and if you look at the trailer you don’t complain about it.

2) Anushka Shetty as Maharani Devasena

The portions of Anushka Shetty was largely missing in the Baahubali 1 trailer, but in the new trailer, it’s not the same case. Baahubali 2 trailer shows Anushka as Maharani Devasena alongside Prabhas. Not only the trailer features her romantic portions with Baahubali, but also it shows her action sequences as well. A large section of Anushka Shetty fans, who were disappointed with the first part has more reasons to smile this time.

3) Rana Daggubati’s amazing transformation for Bhallala Deva

Though the trailer revolves more about Baahubali’s story, there is no denying the fact that Rana Daggubati has got an equal amount of screen presence as well in the trailer. In fact, one of the best thing about the trailer is the actor’s amazing transformation for the antagonist role, Bhallala Deva. The Baby actor was looking menacing as ever in the trailer, especially during the action scenes where the actor was in a beefed up avatar.

4) Baahubali and Kattappa’s meeting

Similar to Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj was largely missing in the trailer of Baahubali prequel. But the kind of popularity and limelight he gained through his role Kattappa was, in fact, more than the lead hero, Prabhas. Even though it was a supporting role, it went on to become the actor’s most loved avatar in his 39-year-long film career. Thanks to the common question, “Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali?” (a national question now), the makers had smartly promoted him in the new trailer. The trailer also features many goosebump moments especially when Baahubali tells Kattappa “No one is born to kill me when you are with me uncle”.

5) SS Rajamouli – The Perfectionist Film Director

Prior to the release of Baahubali 2 trailer, director Rajamouli had stated that Baahubali was just a starter and its sequel will be the main dish. Well, if you look at the trailer you can do nothing but agree with the maverick director as the trailer has lived up to everyone’s expectations. The trailer was promised to be a visual treat and yes, it is! The three and half year’s entire hard work of Rajamouli were visible in each and every frame of the trailer. The fantasy kingdom of Mahismati will be one of the best location you will ever see in Indian cinema and so are the breath-taking action scenes thanks to the incredible VFX work. The BG score is no exception as well. The Baahubali 2 trailer will now be remembered as one of the finest trailer ever released in India, along with Magadheera, Eega and Baahubali, interestingly all are Rajamouli’s discoveries. Special mention to his ‘extra oblongata’. Take a bow, Mr SS Rajamouli!
