Baaghi 2’s trailer: Another Tiger Shroff talent show headlined by Tiger Shroff himself

Another film, another leading lady, another antagonist... but the same old Tiger. In Baaghi 2, he's doing the same backflips since his debut.

Tiger Shroff has taken flight, once again. Another film, another leading lady, another antagonist… but the same old Tiger. He’s doing the same backflips he has been doing since his first movie. He’s been breaking bones, squashing heads of faceless men, as though it were only thing in their job description. As the spotlight shines brightly on this ‘hardworking star kid’, the men are supposed to stand with their backs to the camera and offer themselves to him as he justifies his stardom.

By now, it would be pure insanity to expect a story or anything in the territory of ‘acting’ from a film starring Tiger Shroff. But it seems like Tiger, who has made a career (would you believe it?) out of kicking people in the face, doesn’t even have the charisma of a Jackie Chan or a Keanu Reeves. And his refusal to even try to emote, puts him in the esteemed company of Salman Khan and other obnoxious stalwarts.

Baaghi 2 starring Shroff with his rumoured girlfriend Disha Patani, is another exercise in vanity. A little girl has gone missing, and the rebel must blow shit up to find out about it. Patani, who earlier starred in a PSA called MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, will exercise her popularity on Instagram to draw some people to the theatre.

Produced by Bollywood veteran Sajid Nadiadwala, Baaghi 2 looks like another platform for Tiger Shroff to showcase his diverse skill-set that include kicking, dancing, solitary dialogue… repeat. For some mysterious reason, the film also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Prateik Babbar and Randeep Hooda delivering their lines with the snarl of badly-written villains from the 1980s. As most of Shroff’s movies, this one will also probably go on to become a ‘hit’ and its leading man an even bigger ‘star’.
