65th National Awards: Sridevi Wins Best Actress Posthumously For MOM

The National Film awards were announced in New Delhi today and two icons of Indian cinema — Sridevi and Vinod Khanna — were awarded with a National Award and  Dadasaheb Phalke award respectively.

Sridevi, who passed away suddenly in February, was given the best actress award posthumously for her final performance in MOM, a revenge thriller where she played a mother bent on avenging the rape of her daughter. This is her first National Award for Best Actress. Vinod Khanna, who died last year, will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke award, India’s highest film honour.
