A Parade With Puppers? YAAAS PLISSS! (Heavy Breathing)

How do you make a seemingly threatening parade of missiles, tanks and a country’s military might…cute? Release the puppies!

A group of nine golden retriever puppies paraded alongside humans and fully-grown dogs in Chile’s annual Independence Day parade. The 45-day-old puppies are the newest members of the national police force’s canine training unit. More than 9,500 troops participated in the parade in Santiago — Chile’s capital. The puppies were carried in the arms of trainers, who kept them warm with heaters and special yellow carriers.

The parade marked the 208th anniversary of the beginning of Chile’s fight for independence from Spain in 1810.

Here’s how people on Twitter reacted to the aww-so-dorable puppy parade:

I love the expressions on their faces. They take that pupper duty seriously.
