Cops find man drunk out of his mind. This is what they did next

Two cops from Tasmania Police force find this guy massively drunk. Instead of busting him, they took a selfie

Tasmania Police has the best bunch of cops. Just recently, when a guy imbibed a little too much and was in no position to move, two cops from Tasmania Police Force helped him get home and even took a selfie. When Reece, a resident of Tasmania, Australia, had no memory of the night and did not recall anything about the past events. So when the other day he ordinarily took out his phone to check, little did Reece know that he’d find a crazy memorable of the past night. He took to Facebook and Reddit to share his amazing story about his blackout night adventure with the cops. In no time, the screenshot went viral.

Usually, you are massively drunk, and the cops find you, then you are busted, my friend. The last thing you would expect is waking up comfortably at your cosy home surrounded by ‘angelic cops’ taking a selfie for memories. Even netizens are baffled with this crazy story and literally cannot believe this fairy tale. “Let me get this straight. You black out, cops find you, and you wake up in your own bed and not a jail cell/drunk tank? What fairytale land do you dwell in?”, said a user. “He is probably the lovable drunk the rest of us think we are.”, commented another user of Reece’s Reddit post.

The story does not end there. It even paved its way to the official Facebook page of Tasmania Police pinned with a long caption:

Tasmania Police encourages party-goers to plan ahead so they can enjoy their night.

Senior Sgt Craig Fox, of Northern District, said that people should pre-arrange a designated driver, use public transport or organise a taxi if they were intending to have a big night.

“Make a plan about how you will get home before you have a drink. Then there’s no risk to you, your family, friends or others on the road,” Snr Sgt Fox said.

“Consideration should also be given to arranging alternative accommodation for the night, at either a friend’s house or hotel/motel to ensure your safety. People should stick together and look out for one another when going out, or when heading home.”

Snr Sgt Fox said that police did not normally drive people home who were suffering from the effects of alcohol.

“However police are always looking for a place of safety for anyone who is affected by alcohol.

“On this occasion, police were contacted by a taxi company for assistance in getting the man home. When police arrived, they found out his address, took the man home and waited for a friend to arrive to look after him,” he said.

“Because he was a bit worse for wear, our officers took the opportunity to record the moment with a selfie in the likely event he could not remember how he got home.”
