Welcome to inUth’s ldigital coverage of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017’s qualifier 2 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. KKR fans must be praying to ‘Rain Gods’ to stay away from the qualifier and not ruin the game the way it did in the eliminator between KKR and defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
MI have a second chance of making it into the IPL 2017 final and avenge their defeat in the first qualifiers and through the league stages. But they have a daunting task ahead of them as they face in-form KKR side. MI’s strong point is their batting lineup and the way KKR’s bowling lineup have performed in the previous few matches, they will be a tough unit to get ahead of, especially at M Chinnaswamy’s surface.
Pitch Report:
The Bengaluru pitch has not behaved the way it used to in the previous 9 seasons of the tournament. The run rate has dropped significantly in this season as it used to be a run fest and now a double-paced wicket on which bowlers wreak havoc. Gautam Gambhir will surely continue this ritual to bowl first if he wins the toss. MI skipper Rohit Sharma is expected to do the same due to the rain threat.
