Shahid Afridi and Misbah-ul-Haq have led Pakistan Cricket team to glory on many occasions. The crowd turned super energetic after seeing their heroes on the field

“Boom Boom Afridi”, the crowd at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, chanted in unison when the former Pakistani skipper, Shahid Afridi attended his farewell reception during the last World XI vs Pakistan T20I match on September 15. Former Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq also showed up while both the captains performed the lap of honour.

As learned from several media reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) invited all the three veteran players – Afridi, Misbah and Younis Khan – to the farewell celebration. Khan already denied the invitation while Afridi confirmed his presence at the eleventh hour after ignoring it initially. However, the crowd present at the stadium cheered loudly for their national heroes and waved several placards expressing their gratitude towards the retired cricket captains.

The crowd turned more energetic when Afridi did the lap of honour. The people were excited to see their ‘LALA’ on the cricket field.

Misbah took to his official Twitter account to thank PCB for the honour he received. He didn’t forget to thank his fans as well who supported him throughout his career.
