Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper batsman gets a call up to the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 after a long time in place of Kolkata Knight Riders middle order batsman picked up an injury and will not take any further part in the ongoing Indian Premier League Eliminator 2 as well. Manish Pandey picked up a left-side strain injury during one of the Kolkata Knight Riders net sessions. This will for certain jolt KKR as they take on Mumbai Indians tomorrow at Bangalore. Dinesh Karthik, who has been a part of the Gujarat Lions outfit has shown good form and hence the call up seems to be pretty justified.

India will feature in the tournament starting in a fortnights time in England and Wales, where Manish Pandey was slated to feature in the team but his injury will not allow him. India will also be defending their title which they won in the same country four years back. This is the biggest and the most-awaited ICC limited overs tournament of the year, which will see the best of eight teams in the world lock-horns against eachother for the ultimate glory.

Manish Pandey was also an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team which are currently playing the IPL. They are still in the title race, where they face Mumbai Indians tomorrow at Bangalore, where they won their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, without Manish Pandey. Manish Pandey also happens to be the first Indian to score a century in the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
