Phillauri audience review: Anushka Sharma's film is quirky and intriguing

Phillauri audience review: This supernatural drama will show Anushka in a role of the ghost. Let's see if audience appreciate this friendly ghost or not

Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh’s Phillauri has hit the theatres today. Directed by Anshai Lal, Phillauri is Anushka’s second production venture after NH10. Anushka has produced the film with brother Karnesh Sharma under her banner Clean Slate Films.

This romantic comedy flick is a supernatural drama in which Anushka is seen playing the role of Shashi. She dies with an unfinished love story and after a gap of a few decades, she enters in the life of Suraj, after he was made to wed a tree in order to get rid of ‘mangalik dosh’. The roller-coaster ride of a ghost and his groom is what Phillauri is about.

It shows both now and then life of Shashi. Set in a village named Phillauri, the film focuses on an unfinished love story of Shashi and her love. It brings two lifetimes together. Anushka will be seen opposite Diljit Dosanjh, who is playing a role of a folk singer. This will be the first time when Anushka and Diljit are coming together.

While the audiences are already excited to watch the duo on-screen for the first film, Life of Pi fame Suraj Sharma’s performance would be another highlight of the film.

This will be Diljit’s second Bollywood film. He debuted in Bollywood with Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Udta Punjab. The film has already got thumbs up from Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Saqib Saleem and Farhan Akhtar, to name a few. Looking at the pre-release tweets, we can certainly say — fans are all game to watch the first-day-first-show of the film. Let’s see what audience has to say about the film:
