The comparisons between Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are not new in the media circuit. Post an illustrious career in Bollywood, the two divas set to a path in the West and won lauds there as well. While the comparisons between them refuse to die away, Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra feels it is pointless. Madhu said if these two actresses worked together they would make India stronger.
Off late Madhu Chopra can be seen being quite involved in her daughter’s career. She clearly understands Priyanka’s career choices and more. So Madhu’s opinions on the comparison really should be given a thought.
Speaking to a leading entertainment portal, Madhu Chopra said no one should compare Deepika and Priyanka. She added both of them were doing great jobs. She then said if Deepika and Priyanka work together, it would really help the country.
Quite recently when Deepika Padukone was questioned about being compared to Priyanka, she had said she couldn’t wrap her head around it. The xXx: Return Of Xander Cage actress said, she knew Priyanka on a personal level and all these comparisons amused her sometimes. Deepika added she and Priyanka wanted different things from life so pitting them against each other was unfair.
Well, we think it is high time everyone stopped comparing Deepika and Priyanka.
The two divas were seen together in Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus which released in 2015. In the film, Priyanka essayed the role of Kashibai and Deepika that of Mastani. During the filming too, there were reports the two divas were at loggerheads. Later it was revealed, the reports were nothing but baseless rumours. In fact, a behind the scenes video of the song Pingaa from the 2o15 movie which was released confirmed there weren’t any problems between Deepika and Padukone.
On the work front, Deepika will be seen next in Padmavati, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She essays the role of Rajputana princess Rani Padmini in the film which also features Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
