Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year four years ago. Since then, she has not looked back and continues to ascend heights in her career. Now, there is another news which will bring cheers to her fans.
Karan Johar is in advanced stages of finalising a film with the Filmfare Award winning actor. He is going to produce a spy thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar. Based on Harinder Sikka’s book Calling Sehmat, the story revolves around the life of a Kashmiri girl who is married to a Pakistan army official. According to DNA, the film is scheduled to go on floors from July. The website reported that Alia was doubtful whether she could play the role or not. But the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director managed to convince her.
Alia Bhatt is at the peak of her career. After winning the Filmfare Award for her role in Udta Punjab, the 24-year-old saw her Holi release Badrinath Ki Dulhania cross the Rs 100 crore club. Recently, there were reports that Alia has been roped in to feature alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Aanand L Rai’s upcoming film. Earlier, Deepika was signed for the film but she apparently opted out due to her commitments with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati.
Both Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt had share screen space in last year’s November release Dear Zindagi, in which she won widespread critical acclaim. She had essayed the role of a cinematographer tackling depression, whereas Khan played her therapist.
