Aamir Khan was seen yesterday at the funeral of veteran actress Reema Lagoo. The 59-year-old actress passed away due to cardiac arrest and Aamir Khan revealed a side of hers which was not known to many, Speaking about the shocking death, Aamir Khan said she was not suffering from any ailment and it was really sad that she left too soon.
Apart from expressing grief, Aamir Khan revealed how Reema Lagoo was involved in the Paani Foundation. Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao’s Paani Foundation is an initiative to help drought-ridden farmers. Telling about Reena’s involvement with the project, Aamir said, “Reemaji had a very clean heart. She was a socially conscious person and she did a lot of work with us on the Paani project. She was leading ahead in the project and doing so much more than all the youngsters. I pray that her soul rests in peace.”
Aamir Khan’s first movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak featured Reema Lagoo in the role of Juhi Chawla’s mother. Aamir said, “My first film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was with Reemaji, she was a great actor.”

Reema Lagoo was definitely one of the most loved on-screen mothers of Bollywood. She essayed the role of mother to Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt as well. When Sanjay Dutt learnt about her death, he said in a statement that he lost a mother again. He said, “I have lost a mother again today. We worked together in several movies and every time that I worked with her I learnt something new. Her demise has left a void which is difficult to fill. May God give strength to her family and close ones.”
The Vaastav actress was working in Mahesh Bhatt’s serial Naamkarann as the main antagonist. She has left a void in Indian film industry which can never be filled.
