Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone went to Cannes 2017 and the red carpet was so much the better for it. While they surely made a lot of heads turn at the festival and inspired a lot of designers, Mumbai Chef Pooja Dhingra also took inspiration and decided to create some really drool-worthy desserts.
Pooja Dhingra is the founder of Le 15 Patisserie is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Paris.
On her Instagram account, Pooja posted ‘While the red carpet at Cannes had the fashion world drooling, we at Le 15 decided to interpret some of our favourite looks and give them a new avatar – in the form of dessert! Stay tuned for a series on some fashion forward desserts that we worked on to commemorate some of this year’s looks from the Cannes Red Carpet!’ This does sound amazing but the end results were even more so. She turned those beautiful couture gowns worn by Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities into gastronomic delights with the hashtag Fashion Forward Desserts.
Starting with Deepika Padukone’s stylish Marchesa gown, Pooja created ‘Red Wine infused Dark Chocolate Macarons’ and they look absolutely delicious:
Instagrammers were pretty impressed by her culinary innovation. ‘Stunningg (sic) are those macarons too’, writes one of them.
Another of Pooja’s Instagram post read, ‘Our take on Aishwarya Rai’s Yanina Couture gown is this White Chocolate and Matcha cake!’
Inspired by Sonam Kapoor’s stunning golden gown, Pooja whipped up ‘A champagne and chocolate tier cake’
You would definitely be impressed by this ‘rendition of the Rainbow Cake, inspired by the lovely Naomie Harris who wore Gucci’. Someone commented ‘That cake looks much much better than the dress.’
And the Le 15 Patisserie and Pooja Dhingra’s ‘little dessert fashion show’ ended with Elle Fanning’s floral Gucci dress:
