In a shocking turn of events, parents of Indian speedster Shardul Thakur suffered several injuries after their motorcycle met with an accident on May 8. The accident happened in the Palghar district of Maharashtra which is situated about 115 km from Mumbai. The couple was taken to a nearby hospital where their condition was declared as out of danger.
As reported by PTI, Shardul’s parent’s—father Narendra Thakur and mother Hansa Thakur—were heading towards Mahim village in Palghar on a motorcycle. According to the Palghar police, their vehicle skidded off the Kelwa-Mahim road on Tuesday night as the road, on which the mishap occurred, was under repair.
Since Mr and Mrs Narendra Thakur are under medical attention, their statements have not been taken yet.
Shardul Thakur hails from Palghar and is currently representing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played 7 games so far in this season and has taken 8 wickets with an average of 29.45 and has an economy rate of 9.03.
Recently, he was named in the 15-member Indian squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan. He has also found a place in the India ‘A’ squad for the forthcoming ODI tri-series going to be played in England.
