While the nation mourns the death of 49 CRPF personnel, who were killed during the Pulwama attack on Thursday, people from various quarters have come forward, extending a helping hand to their families.

In one such gesture, District Magistrate (DM) of Bihar’s Sheikhpura, Inayat Khan, on Saturday, decided to adopt daughters of two of the CRPF troopers from the state.
Khan announced that she will bear the education cost and other expenses throughout the life of one daughter each of the two CRPF men — Ratan Kumar Thakur and Sanjay Kumar Sinha.
Khan a Bihar cadre IAS officer, has also decided to donate two days salary to the families of the two martyrs.
According to reports, the DM has also asked all the government staff to donate their one day’s salary to the families of the slain soldiers.
A bank account also has been set up in Sheikhpura, for people to donate generously. The amount collected would be divided and given to the families of the two slain CRPF men.
Ratan (30), who joined the service in 2011, is survived by his pregnant wife and a four-year-old son. Sanjay (45), who had returned from home after leave few days before the attack, is survived by two daughters and a son.
