A Kashmiri garment trader in Mussoorie is under fire for allegedly appreciating Pakistani army on the social media. The shop of 59-year-old Manzoor Ahmad was forcibly shut by the members of BJP youth wing and the Hindu Jagran Manch after they found him praising the Pakistan army in a video.
As per the members of the organisation, they saw a video on the social media in which Ahmad can be seen praising the Pakistan Army. The president of the BJP youth wing in Mussoorie, Dharampal Singh Panwar, said, “After getting his (Ahmad’s) shop closed, we and the local traders’ body (the Mussoorie Traders & Welfare Association) went to the police station to file a complaint against him”.
Ahmad’s family is into the business of selling business since 1971 and is among the oldest trader families from Kashmir in Mussoorie.Ahmad told the police officials that his Facebook account was hacked.
Mussoorie police station SHO, Rajeev Rauthan, said that Ahmad came to the police station to register a complaint about his Facebook page being hacked. SHO also added that the alleged video can not be seen now on his Facebook page. Meanwhile, Ahmad’s phone has been given to the cyber cell to check if his account was hacked.

After India lost to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy on June 18, since then there have continuous efforts to send Kashmiri traders back to the valley from Mussoorie. After India’s loss in the cricket match , hree boys were allegedly heard shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” on the Mall Road. As per BJP leaders and some local traders they were incited by Kashmiri traders.
Panwar said, “We want the new Kashmiri traders to leave Mussoorie by February-end (next year). On Thursday, we shall give a memorandum to the Mussoorie SDM on this”.
