Army foils major intrusion bid in Uri, kills ten militants

Earlier in the day, Pakistani troopers fired with small and automatic fire arms at Indian posts in Uri sector.

The Indian Army on Tuesday foiled a major infiltration bid in Lachipuri area of Uri sector in Jammu and Kashmir, killing ten terrorists.

According to reports, the encounter is still underway and more militants are believed to be holed up in the area.

Earlier in the day, Pakistani troopers fired at Indian posts here as well.

“Pakistani troopers resorted to heavy gunfire with small and automatic fire arms from across the Line of Control (LoC). No damage was caused to Indian posts,” a defence source said.
