Force 2: CBFC proposed no cuts pertaining to India-Pakistan relationship in the film, says director Abhinay Deo

Reports said that CBFC had asked to chop scenes related to Pakistan in Force 2. We called up director Abhinay Deo and he denied all such reports.

John Abraham, Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin are gearing up for the release of their action entertainer — Force 2. The film, which is being directed by Abhinay Deo, is slated for release on November 18. The buzz around the film is that it’s the latest one to have been targeted by the Censor Board. The reports suggested that CBFC had asked the filmmakers to cut Pakistan related content in the film. However, when we contacted the director, he denied all the reports and said that the board had asked them to make only a few acceptable changes. Talking to us over the call, Abhinay Deo said:

“There are no cuts pertaining to India-Pakistan relationship that CBFC has asked us to make. We were fine with the cuts that the board asked us to make. There’s no objection of any sorts.”

Force 2 is the sequel of Force (2011), which featured John Abraham and Genelia D Souza in the lead. The film was received well by the audiences and was directed by Nishikant Kamat. The trailer and promos of Force 2 have also been taken well by the audiences. The film’s promotions have now designed to have a patriotic stand.

When the makers released the trailer of the film, it has been deemed as an out-and-out action entertainer. However, post the unfortunate URI attack, the makers released a promotional song — Rang Laal as a tribute to the unsung soldiers of wars. Later, John and Sonakshi also visited India Gate to pay tribute to the war soldiers. When we asked John Abraham about this sudden inheritance of nationalism in promotions, he said:

“We planned this film one and a half years back, so there was no sense of nationalism or being opportunistic that we wanted to do with this film. Unfortunately, Uri attacks took place and we (country) have problems now and so suddenly Force 2 becomes far more relevant film in today’s time, it was never planned that we will work around this sudden attack.”

Force 2 has Sonakshi as KK —  a RAW agent and John as Kabir — a cop. Both team up to protect the other RAW agents in the country from a man who’s on a mission to kill them. The man in question is the cold-blooded villain from Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani — Tahir Raj Bhasin.
