Exclusive: Sherlyn Chopra's first interview after Playboy founder Hugh Hefner's death

In an exclusive interview with InUth, Sherlyn Chopra spoke about the first time she interacted with the magazine mogul at the legendary Playboy mansion.

The iconic founder of Playboy magazine, Hugh Hefner, passed away on September 27 at the age of 91. Hefner, who is known to have started a sexual revolution died a natural death at his home surrounded by his family. While the magazine which was first published in 1953 has featured top Hollywood beauties like Marilyn Monroe, Sharon Stone and Anna Nicole Smith; model-turned-actress, Sherlyn Chopra became the first ever Indian actress to feature on the Playboy Magazine cover.

In the past, Chopra had revealed that she wanted to do something path-breaking in 2012, and that’s when she got the idea of writing a letter to Hugh Hefner, expressing her desire to do a cover shoot for Playboy. The actress got a positive reply from the multi-millionaire and that’s when she flew to the US to pose for the cover.

The actress did face an outrage in India for posing nude on the cover, however, Sherlyn felt that the experience of the cover shoot was something she would cherish for the entire life. Recalling her cover shoot experience, Sherlyn revealed that Hugh Hefner and his team treated her with utmost respect throughout.

“It felt surreal as I had only read about Mr.Hefner and seen his work until then. To have personally met him at his magnificent mansion as his guest was quite exhilarating.”

The actress further revealed that Hefner was far away from the perception that people have about him.

“His off-screen persona was a far cry from his onscreen image! He was shy and very soft spoken.
I found him to be a thorough gentleman, one who knows how to treat a lady with respect, warmth and benevolence,” said Sherlyn.

Chopra signed off saying what started as an adult print magazine, is now a billion dollar enterprise.

“Playboy is a billion dollar enterprise that was initially conceived as an adult print magazine. Its popularity amongst its readers soared so high that its growth and expansion across the globe as a luxury indulgence was inevitable,” she signed off saying.
