Two robbers open fire at San Antonio Mall; 1 dead, 5 injured

One of the robbers shot the man while the other individual shot his killer partner with a licensed gun and injured him.

In a shocking incident, a person was dead and 5 other were injured as two robbers open fired at the San Antonio mall after they robbing a jewelry shop at the mall on January 22.

The man who was shot dead was trying to prevent the robbery and five others were injured. As said by the San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, the shooting at the Rolling Oaks Mall was a “robbery gone really, really bad.”

One of the robbers shot the man while the other individual shot his killer partner with a licensed gun and injured him. He then ran away from the mall, firing through his gun nd hurting a man and a woman. These two individuals, along with the injured robber, were taken to local hospital, reported San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood.

In addition, a woman who complained of chest pains and a pregnant woman who had labor pains were also taken to local hospitals, Hood said.

McManus said the mall was placed on lockdown after the shooting and officers were escorting people out of the stores one by one.

“We searched the mall and we feel as confident as we can feel that the second suspect is not in there,” McManus said.

While the police chief termed this incident “absolutely senseless.” The victim’s name is not disclosed yet by the authorities.
