This is how Sikh community members helped Barcelona terror attack victims

After the terror attack, the Sikh community in Spain opened their doors for people seeking help

The world was reeling in shock after terror struck Spain’s Barcelona on Thursday evening. As many as 13 people were killed and over 100 were injured after a van rammed into a crowd of pedestrians and wreaked havoc. In times of crisis, Sikh community never shies away from lending its supporting hand forward. After the terror attack, the Sikh community in Spain opened their doors for people seeking help.

Harjinder S Kukreja from Punjab took to Twitter to inform people that Gurudwaras in Barcelona are offering help to those who are in need.

“If anyone needs shelter, food, Sikh houses of worship in the Spanish city are open for all,” Kukreja tweeted.

Another Twitter user, Rajwant Singh shared the location of those Gurudwaras, so that the news can reach as many people as possible. In his tweet, Kukreja has informed people about two Gurdwaras in Barcelona:

This is not the first time Sikh community have offered their services, in fact they helped those affected by Manchester bombing and London bridge attack

The authorities also made a huge contribution by making transportation and hotels free for victims. The people from nearby areas were offering everything from free accommodation to free taxi services. The transport authority has announced that metro and buses will not be asking for tickets.
