France: Several injured after shooting at school, one suspect held

Several  people were injured after a shooting took place at a high school on Thursday in the small southern French town of Grasse. It was too early to say whether it was a terrorist attack but that one man had been arrested and a second was possibly being sought, Reuters reported quoting sources.However, the government launched its mobile telephone application warning of a “terrorist” attack.An intruder burst into the Tocqueville high school and opened fire, PTI reported quoting its sources .Police has arrested one suspect and another was on the run after the shooting at the Tocqueville high school, a police source told AFP.

Officials are still  trying to ascertain whether there are any casualties in the  incident. Local emergency services advised residents on Twitter to stay at home.  The elite law enforcement unit RAID was sent to the high school.  Earlier  today, a ‘letter bomb’ exploded at the French office of the International Monetary Fund, lightly injuring one person. Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve cut short a trip to the northern Somme area because of the Grasse shooting, as well as a letter bomb blast at the offices of the International Monetary Fund in Paris on Thursday.
