Bad news for Indian workers! Trump says a big NO to H1B visa holders

Donald Trump has said that he will not let foreigners replace American workers. Getting H-1B visas will no more that easy under Trump's administration.

Seems like Donald Trump really meant it when he said that he will not allow the foreigners to take away American jobs. The US President-elect Donald trump has asserted he will not allow H1B visa holders to replace US workers.

Just to be clear,The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States and allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations.

While addressing a rally in Iowa, Trump said that he had met a number of American workers during his presidential campaign who had to quit because the foreigners had replaced them. “We will fight to protect every last American life. Won’t let this happen anymore,” he said.

“Can you believe that? You get laid off and then they won’t give you your severance pay unless you train the people that are replacing you.I mean, that’s actually demeaning maybe more than anything else,” he added.

Trump was referring to US workers who has filed a suit against Disney World and two outsourcing companies for letting them go because they found cheap labour and brought them to US on H-1B visa. It is being asserted that most of the foreign labour brought to the US were from India.

Trump had said a similar thing during his campaign.

“Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the US, instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas,” he had said back then.

He has also maintained his stand on building a wall on Mexican border. Trump affirmed that his administration will put an end to illegal immigration and “stop the drugs from pouring” into the United States.
