With tremendous response, Dhruva emerges as Ram Charan's first Rs 10 crore grosser at the US Box Office

With just a day more to complete its one-week theatrical run, Ram Charan's Dhruva has minted nearly Rs 59 crores at the Box Office worldwide.

Last friday saw the release of Ram Charan – Rakul Preet starrer Dhruva. The action entertainer, a remake of the 2015 Tamil blockbuster Thani Oruvan set the Box Office on fire by minting Rs 22.50 crore on its opening day. The film also emerged as the fifth biggest Telugu opener of 2016. Dhruva continued to show a good hold on Saturday and Sunday taking its opening weekend total to Rs 46.50 crore at the Box Office. The Surender Reddy directorial is rock steady on weekdays as well.

Dhruva is doing phenomenal business at overseas as well, especially the US Box Office. The film had a partial release in the USA on Thursday and the Ram Charan starrer stormed into No 8 position out of Top 10 films at US Box Office. And on Tuesday evening, Dhruva hit the coveted $ 1 million mark (Rs 10 crores) at the USA Box Office to become the first Ram Charan film to do so.

The reports of Dhruva have been positive and the collections on the second weekend will give a clear picture whether the film can cross the Rs 100 crore mark or not. The film has been praised for its brilliant script, stylish action and the performances of the cast, especially Arvind Swamy, who has reprised his role of the antagonist from the Telugu Thani Oruvan. Ram Charan portrayed Jayam Ravi’s role while Rakul Preet Singh essayed his female lead’s role played by Nayanthara in its original.
