It's Here! Samsung unveils Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ smartphones

The most awaited smartphones of the year are here!

Samsung electronics on Wednesday unveiled the most awaited smartphone of the year– Samsung Galaxy S8 and it is everything that we hoped for not just in terms of style but also in terms of specifications.

To being with the smartphones, both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset– 2.3GHz Snapdragon 835 processor and run on Android 7.0 Nougat. While Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ super AMOLED bezel-less display, Galaxy S8+ features a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ sAMOLED bezel-less display. The two smartphones are protected by IP68 dust and water resistant technology.

The two smartphones feature a 12MP dual pixel sensor rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Samsung has made some significant updations in terms of videos too. Both the smartphones come with 4K video recording feature and can record 9MP still photos while recording 4K videos.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the two smartphones feature support for LTE Cat.16, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB type C, ANT+, GPS and GLONASS. The two devices also feature iris recognition and face recognition to protect your device from all prying eyes. While Galaxy S8 comes with a 3,000mAh battery, Galaxy S8+ will be powered by a 3,500mAh battery. The two smartphones are available in five colour variants– Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver and Maple Gold.

Samsung also unveiled Bixby virtual assistant, which is essentially a rival to Apple’s Siri and comes with its own special on the home screen. You can use voice, text or touch to interact with Bixby. You can not only use Samsung’s virtual assistant to interact with your smartphone but also, shop, search for restaurants, book a cab and even capture images.

Along with its flagship smartphone, the tech giant also unveiled an upgraded version of its GearVR and smart camera Gear360. Samsung’s smart camera Gear360 captures 4K 360-degree videos. You can connect it to your smartphone or personal computer and live broadcast the special moments of your life.

Gear VR, on the other hand, gives you a more interactive virtual reality (VR) experience and it comes with a Gear VR controller which helps you to navigate VR with ease.There is no word on the pricing of the two smartphones yet. However, it will be available for pre-order in the US from March 30,
