It’s the season of smartphones launches. And after witnessing the launch of a series of smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC 2017), it’s time that we gear up for one of the biggest smartphone launches of the year– Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
Previous reports suggested that the smartphone maker would launch the two smartphones at a special event in New York City on March 29. However, new reports suggest that the release date has been pushed to April 28. The news has been confirmed by the serial leaker Evan Blass, who has been gracious enough to give us timely updates about the features of the upcoming smartphones.
However, it’s worth mentioning that the company will be unveiling the two smartphones along with a new virtual reality (VR) headset that is compatible with the new design on March 29. The company has only delayed the global launch.
Given the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco that resulted in the tech giant recalling the smartphone globally, it is understandable that the company is proceeding with extreme caution this time.

5.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 would feature sAMOLED display along with Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant and would be powered by Qualcomm’s latest ‘super chip’ Snapdragon 835 processor.

6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ on the other hand, would feature a super AMOLED display with IP68 technology making it dust and water resistant. It would sport 4GB RAM with 64GB internal memory that can be expanded via microSD. It would also feature a 12MP rear camera with an 8MP front camera. Both the smartphones will run on the Android operating system.
