This Eid ad reminds us that to set things right, it just takes a 'sorry' [Watch]

This ad urges people to put their egos and differences aside, say 'sorry' and celebrate the festival of Eid with love and joy.

This Eid, Ghadi detergent has come up with a new advertisement which talks about how a single sorry can mend broken ties. Saare Mael Dho Daalo is based on the simple premise that if a small apology can mend broken relationships of the past, don’t you think it is worth a try? The ad urges people to reach out to those people who have been close to your heart but circumstances made you part ways. The ad is a reminder that forgiveness comes naturally to those who are close to us and if we have the courage to ask for it, we shall receive it.

The ad shows a couple who are making preparations for a dawat on the occasion of Eid. The wife prods the husband about his friends who may not be coming to the party. The husband is hesitant at first, but when his wife asks him to apologise, he caves.

As he begins calling his friends, the ad is a subtle reminder of the power of what a single sorry can do. The wife helps her husband put her ego aside and apologise to his friends that he had wronged in the past. In a way, she helps him repair his relationship with his estranged friends.

The ad is a reminder of the real spirit of the festival of Eid and the importance of ensuring that we celebrate it with our loved ones. Ghadi makes a comparison with the underlying theme of cleaning clothes to that of cleansing our conscience.

Earlier this year, the brand had also launched an ad campaign under the same hashtag #saaremaeldhodaalo during the festival of Holi. The ad campaign was focused towards men, urging them not to apply color on women without their consent. The ad campaign had gone viral and had received over 15 million views.
